The successful 2IC/Assistant will be expected to have
the following attributes:
- Milking & shed hygiene
- Assist with record keeping
- Assist with monitoring animal health
- Assisting with pasture management
- General farm maintenance
- Feeding out with tractor
- Positive can do attitude
- Continual good communication to all staff and owners
- Proactive with H&S policies on farm
This 160Ha Farm has top notch infrastructure with a 40 aside
herringbone shed, with neighboring yards, vet race and workshop areas.
The 460-cow herd are milked twice a day with a simple level 1/2 input feeding system in place. The farm is flat to rolling, with effluent used to cover 31ha of pasture. Races and fencing are well maintained and the successful candidate will be welcomed to be a part of a team of passionate farmers, striving to keep all aspects of its running up to optimum condition, as well as being a part of further infrastructure or improvements for the farms future.
The successful applicant will report directly to the farm manager and will ideally have 3 seasons dairy farming experience, those with less experience may be considered for the role. Candidates must be reliable, honest, have a sense of initiative and be goal driven.
